Hawaiian Fire Premium Surf Lesson

Learn to surf with dedicated professionals, whose skills as surfers and training as firefighters create a relaxed and safe environment guaranteed to have you surfing in no time!

You will have the opportunity to learn to surf in a secluded area on the southwest coast of Oahu, away from the surfers that usually congregate at Waikiki Beach. The area has some of the most steady wave activity on the island, and a barrier reef a mile offshore breaks down any swell, reducing the waves to a size optimal for learning on.

Your safety is important, which is why all the necessary surfing equipment is provided, and all of the instructors hold certifications in safety and life preservation. A 3:1 or better student/teacher ratio is maintained so that instructors are better able to personally assist you through each step of the learning process.

Tour pickups are at 7am and 9:30am respectively, where students are picked up from designated locations in Waikiki for a scenic, 30 minute drive to a relatively isolated beach for their surfing lessons.

Upon arrival you will spend your first 45 minutes on the beach, where you are instructed on safety as well as technique. Once completed, you will enter the water for an hour and 15 minutes worth of surf time, where you are able to put principle to practice and catch some waves! The lessons offered are specifically designed to get any novice surfer up on a board and surfing in a short period of time.

Tour Highlights:

• Surf instructors have years of surfing experience and are certified in CPR, Open Water Rescue, and First Responder.



• Safety is a priority while surfing, so only the best instructional equipment is provided.

• A 45 minute safety briefing and on shore surfing instruction

• Foam covered surf board instead of a fiberglass board to reduce the potential for injury



• Leash to keep you tethered to your board



• Lycra “rash guard,” or surf shirt to protect your front torso area from friction rash



• Reef walkers to protect feet from injuries caused from kicking the reef



• A tent and chairs for shade from the sun and for some respite in between instruction

• Water-Proof Sunscreen



• Comfortable swim shorts and a top



• Towel



• Change of clothes



• Water bottle



• Waterproof sunscreen



• Do not bring any valuables like jewelry since they are easily lost in the ocean and sand

• All lessons are held in a group setting with a student/instructor ratio of 3:1, and there is a maximum of 15 students per tour. Also, it is not required to have 3 people in your group to sign up for a premium lesson.



• The rate for this tour applies to all ages 11 and older. Children 10 and under require a private lesson.



• Being a strong swimmer is not a lesson requirement, but one should at least be able to tread through water and a good night’s rest is recommended the evening prior to the day of your lesson.



• The depth of the water in which you will be surfing usually ranges from 3 to 6 feet and waves average from knee-length to as high as your chest.



• Observers may accompany students on the tour if they merely want to watch but do not wish to surf, for an additional cost of $50. Subject to the availability of seating since priority is given to students.



• Restroom and fresh water showers are available 30 yards from the beach.



• Only two tours are held per day and are available every day except major holidays.

• If due to weather or other unforeseen events, a Tour or Activity is cancelled, we will refund your cost 100%.



• Tours that do not include flights, can be rescheduled any time up to 72 hour before your scheduled activity date at no additional cost.



• Tours and Activities cancelled prior to 72 hours before your activity date are eligible for a refund minus a 10% cancellation fee.



• We are sorry but tours cancelled within 72 hours of your activity date, along with missed tours, cannot be refunded.



• Due to airline ticket restrictions, all tours which include airfare are non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled once the reservation is confirmed.
